Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, international trade, business administration, or related field
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs management
- Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, international trade, business administration, or related field
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs management, preferably within perishables or temperature-controlled freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations and customs clearance processes
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across teams and with clients
- Proficiency in English (Spanish is a plus)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Job Duties
- Manage and supervise customs operations, including import and export clearance for perishable cargo
- Ensure compliance with CBP, FDA, USDA, TSA, and other U.S. regulatory agencies
- Maintain current knowledge of customs laws, tariffs, and industry standards
- Prepare and file customs documentation, including entry summaries, invoices, and certificates of origin
- Resolve issues related to customs holds, delays, or non-compliance in a timely manner
- Facilitate accurate customs entries, duty payments, and tariff classifications
- Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to customs procedures
- Collaborate with airfreight and warehouse operations to coordinate seamless shipment handling
- Maintain strong relationships with customs officials, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders
- Anticipate and mitigate customs-related risks, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Generate reports on customs activities, clearance times, and compliance performance
- Maintain complete and accurate records for audits and compliance reviews
