Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in customs entry writing or import brokerage
  • Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and tariff classification
  • Experience with ACE Portal and Automated Broker Interface (ABI)
  • Familiarity with government agency clearance processes such as FDA, USDA, EPA
  • Proficiency in customs brokerage software systems like CargoWise or Descartes
  • Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in customs entry writing or import brokerage
  • Knowledge of HTS classification, Incoterms, and U.S. import regulations
  • Proficiency with CargoWise, Descartes, Magaya, or similar systems
  • Familiarity with FDA, USDA, and PGA clearance procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high-volume entries
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or interest in sitting for the exam (preferred but not required)

Job Duties

  • Prepare and file customs entries via ACE Portal and ABI systems
  • Classify commodities using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS)
  • Manage CF28/CF29 responses, binding rulings, and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate with CBP, FDA, USDA, EPA, and other PGAs for timely clearance
  • Communicate with clients, carriers, and overseas agents to ensure smooth customs release
  • Maintain compliance with CTPAT, ISF filing, and duty drawback processes
