The Customer Specialist role at CarMax offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this dynamic and customer-focused team. As a Customer Specialist, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of guiding customers through every phase of their CarMax experience, whether purchasing or selling a vehicle. This role is vital in ensuring a seamless and positive interaction for every customer by providing support for car sales, vehicle appraisals, test drives, and financing options. You will work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with various departments to streamline processes and uphold CarMax's high standards of service and honesty.

Your daily responsibilities will involve conducting vehicle condition assessments, managing inventory through scanning and reconciliation, and performing cosmetic inspections to ensure quality standards. Additionally, you will handle critical administrative duties such as printing daily reports, managing transaction paperwork, liaising with finance companies, and overseeing various aspects of vehicle registration and titling. You will also be involved in creating service appointments and verifying repair order invoices to ensure billing accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • sales and customer service experience preferred
  • valid driver's license
  • basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • sales and customer service experience in an area such as retail preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service by guiding customers every step of the way, from sale or facilitating the appraisal to test drives and arranging financing applications
  • conduct vehicle condition assessments by collecting, recording, and communicating information to Buyers that will be used to perform customer appraisals
  • check in and receive vehicles that are shipped to CarMax
  • complete the daily scanning and reconciliation of vehicle inventory
  • perform cosmetic inspections and ensure that all vehicles meet CarMax Quality Standards
  • perform various administrative duties, including, but not limited to: printing daily reports, maintaining transaction paperwork, contacting finance companies regarding Customer contracts, obtaining requirement information regarding registration and/or titling, auditing completed paperwork, cash/payment management
  • create service appointments and review repair order invoices for retail service work performed
  • ensure accuracy of documentation for billing
