The role of Customer Specialist at CarMax is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a seamless car buying or selling experience. The Customer Specialist is not only responsible for direct customer engagement but also collaborates closely with various teams to maintain operational excellence. Key responsibilities include vehicle condition assessments, inventory management, performing cosmetic inspections, and managing administrative tasks related to sales transactions and repair orders. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Sales and customer service experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Demonstrated strong team behaviors including integrity respect inclusion fairness and fun
  • Ability to balance customer and business needs when making decisions
  • Ability to perform multiple duties in a high energy fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to read interpret and transcribe data accurately

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service by guiding customers every step of the way from sale or facilitating the appraisal to test drives and arranging financing applications
  • Conduct vehicle condition assessments by collecting recording and communicating information to Buyers used for customer appraisals
  • Check in and receive vehicles shipped to CarMax complete daily scanning and reconciliation of vehicle inventory
  • Perform cosmetic inspections to ensure all vehicles meet CarMax Quality Standards
  • Perform various administrative duties including printing daily reports maintaining transaction paperwork contacting finance companies regarding customer contracts obtaining requirement information for registration or titling auditing completed paperwork and managing cash/payment
  • Create service appointments and review repair order invoices for retail service work performed ensure accuracy of documentation for billing
