The role of Customer Service Representative at SMI is a unique and fulfilling opportunity, primarily remote following a mandatory training period conducted in Hermitage, TN. This position requires successful candidates to reside in or within a 1.5-hour drive of Nashville, TN. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling inbound calls from child support client stakeholders, adhering strictly to Standard Operating Procedures and contractual obligations. The role demands a high level of customer focus, professionalism, and excellent communication skills to accurately categorize calls, document any abusive or extraordinary interactions, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Reside in Nashville, TN or within 1.5 hour drive
  • complete training in Hermitage, TN
  • have a quiet, distraction-free workspace at home
  • reliable high-speed internet connection with at least 50 mbps download speed
  • smartphone with Android OS or iPhone for authentication
  • proficiency in modern office practices and equipment
  • capacity to work Monday through Friday from 8am-4:35pm CST
  • ability to work some overtime
  • willing to return company equipment upon separation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • proficiency in data entry including keyboard, mouse, and 10-key pad
  • ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • excellent interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and courtesy
  • general understanding of policies and procedures

Job Duties
