Job Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years old to sell tobacco products
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling experience
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of retail operations
- Knowledge of merchandising procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to perform basic math operations
- Ability to work in a retail store environment
- Food handlers card or equivalent certification
- Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP)
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Adherence to company safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling and customer service experience
- Knowledge of retail operations
- Knowledge of merchandising procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products particularly Excel
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to handle variable situations with limited standardization
- Food handlers card or equivalent
- Training for Alcohol Professionals (TAP)
Job Duties
- Provides exceptional customer service representing Vitus in a positive manner including greeting, smiling, making eye contact, soliciting sales, processing transactions accurately, thanking customers and inviting them to return
- Responsible for all retail sales including selling tobacco products in compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations
- Opens and closes the store as needed
- Handles cash and operates computer-based cash registers
- Balances cash register at end of shift
- Secures funds in safe or register
- Makes timely cash drops and maintains cash drawer at or below maximum level according to company policies
- Performs daily cleaning duties maintaining a safe work environment
- Complies with company standards on carding customers for age restricted products
- Prepares food and drinks, stocks and maintains food prep area in compliance with health codes
- Maintains inventory, restocks shelves, refills dispensing machines
- Ensures security of store items to aid in loss prevention
- Takes precautions to protect company assets
- Maintains store cleanliness and proper merchandising of goods
- Ensures cash reconciliation and closing reports on closing shifts
- Maintains professional and courteous interaction with co-workers, customers, vendors, and community
- Adheres to company image standards with neat appearance and hygiene
- Preserves safety of self, employees, and others in the workplace
- Conducts transactions accurately and quickly per company procedures
- Supports the Store Manager as directed
- Observes and complies with all company safety protocols
- Performs assigned daily station duties inside and outside
- Provides regular and predictable attendance
- Communicates effectively and productively with others
