Job Requirements
- obtain a Parking Attendant License
- ability to stand and walk regularly
- ability to occasionally sit, climb or balance
- ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- maintain punctuality and uniform dress code
- availability to work various shifts including 2nd, 3rd shifts and weekends as needed
- ability to understand and comply with company policies
- valid state-issued driver’s license if driving is required
- willingness to adhere to equal employment opportunity policies
Job Qualifications
- less than high school education or one month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- ability to write simple correspondence
- effective communication skills for one-on-one situations with customers and employees
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using units of American money
- neat and clean appearance
- ability to maintain uniform standards
Job Duties
- direct incoming customers to available parking spaces
- count vehicles on location throughout shift as needed
- write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors violating garage policies
- patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts
- provide assistance to customers who have forgotten their parking location
- be punctual, present and in uniform at all scheduled shifts
- courteously assist customers by answering questions and directing to Facility Manager if necessary
- control traffic at entrances and exits as needed
- assist in maintenance and repair of parking equipment and general maintenance tasks as directed
- report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards or unusual occurrences to Facility Manager
- communicate presence of debris, water, oil spills etc. to garage office
- substitute for valets when authorized
- maintain thorough knowledge of garage areas, nearby streets, landmarks and freeways
- assist Facility Manager with other duties as needed
