The Customer Service Clerk role at R L Carriers' Lakeland, FL Service Center offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about customer relations and logistics to become part of a dynamic transportation company. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with a starting wage of $18.76 per hour. As a Customer Service Representative, the primary responsibility is to maintain a positive rapport with customers while assisting with tracking and monitoring freight movement. This position plays a vital role in customer retention by employing effective techniques to ensure customers feel valued and heard. Handling daily freight tracing, resolving customer issues, and collaborating with other terminals on freight-related concerns are key components of this role. The Customer Service Clerk must be capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, utilizing strong communication and critical thinking skills to manage potentially stressful situations. Familiarity with general office tools, customer service protocols, and basic computer applications such as Windows and Microsoft Outlook is essential, along with typing proficiency of at least 30 words per minute.
