The Customer Service Associate role at Sherwin-Williams is a key position within the Automotive Branch #9829 located at 7029 N 57th Avenue in Glendale, AZ. This part-time role is designed to support the branch's daily operations by ensuring that products are delivered to customers efficiently and with the highest level of care. The associate is responsible for handling deliveries using company vans or pick-up trucks, ensuring that orders are correctly packed, labeled, and delivered safely and on time to the appropriate customers. In addition to delivery duties, the Customer Service Associate plays an essential role in receiving and preparing orders, loading and unloading materials, and safely managing inventory.
Beyond logistics, this role requires proficiency in interacting with customers both in person and over the phone, providing excellent customer service that aligns with Sherwin-Williams' standards. The associate may also be tasked with operating specialty equipment such as color retrieval and paint mixing machines, which are crucial for meeting customer needs and maintaining product quality. Working hours correspond with the branch’s schedule from Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, offering flexibility within these parameters based on business requirements.
Importantly, the position involves handling cash and payment methods, managing sensitive customer information, and working independently or under supervision in the store environment. Job Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license
- Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion
- Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Have at least a High School diploma or GED
- Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacuum-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
- Have at least one (1) year of work experience in customer service, retail, or sales
Job Duties
- Prepare orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule in a safe and timely manner (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
- Load and unload products from deliveries
- Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, hand trucks/pallet jacks, carts, etc.
- Assist customers in person and over the phone
- Process sales transactions in the POS accurately and consistently with policies and procedures
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Ensure that the stockroom is organized
- Operate color retrieval and paint mixing machine equipment as needed
- Comply with inventory control procedures and assist with physical inventory process
- Complete monthly and quarterly safety training
