Job Description

Wawa, Inc. is a well-established and beloved chain of convenience stores and gas stations highly regarded for its commitment to customer service, community involvement, and quality products. Founded in 1964, Wawa has grown significantly to become a key player in the retail and convenience industry with locations across several states. Known for its fresh food offerings, made-to-order hoagies, aromatic coffee, and friendly service, Wawa prides itself on creating welcoming environments where both customers and employees feel valued. The company culture emphasizes putting people first, doing the right thing, and making every day a little brighter for both customers and team members. This reflects Wawa’s dedication to not just meeting but exceeding customer expectations and fostering a supportive workplace.

The Customer Service Associate (CSA) role at Wawa is vital in delivering the exceptional service that defines the brand. This position involves being the friendly and approachable face customers rely on when they visit a Wawa store. CSAs are responsible for greeting customers warmly, ensuring their needs are satisfied promptly and courteously, and helping to maintain the clean, well-stocked, and safe atmosphere that customers have come to expect. These associates prepare a range of delicious food items, including breakfast selections, sandwiches made to order, specialty beverages, and pizzas, while also keeping stations like the coffee area tidy and inviting.

In addition to food preparation, the CSA operates the cash register to process payments, activate fuel and gift cards, and conduct essential tasks such as lottery ticket sales and age verification for restricted products. The role demands multitasking skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to store maintenance, including cleaning, stocking shelves, and completing general housekeeping duties. CSAs are team players who contribute to a positive work environment and the overall success of the store.

This is a part-time or full-time position with competitive hourly wages ranging from $16.50 to $20.25, depending on experience, position, and location. A $1.50 shift differential is provided for overnight shifts between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wawa supports associates by offering extensive benefits that promote financial, physical, and emotional well-being. These include medical, dental, vision, and mental health benefits, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k) with company matching, educational assistance, paid parental leave, store discounts, paid time off, flexible schedules, and participation in wellness programs. Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants requiring assistance with the application process, ensuring an inclusive recruitment experience.

Wawa is an equal opportunity employer committed to maintaining a fair and respectful workplace free from discrimination. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. By joining Wawa as a Customer Service Associate, you become part of a team that places a high value on respect, integrity, and heartfelt service, contributing to a vibrant company culture and excellent customer satisfaction.
