Job Description
Wawa, Inc. is a renowned convenience store and gas station chain that has cultivated a strong regional presence across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Founded in 1964, Wawa has grown into a beloved brand known for its commitment to quality products, customer service, and community engagement. The company operates numerous stores offering fresh-made food, beverages, fuel, and convenience items, catering to millions of customers each day. Wawa places a strong emphasis on its culture, which is centered around putting people first, doing the right thing, and delivering exceptional experiences. The organization values diversity and inclusivity, maintaining a work environment where all associates are respected and treated fairly.
As a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Wawa, you will play an essential role in providing excellent service and making each customer visit a memorable one. The CSA is the friendly face that embodies Wawa's core values while greeting and assisting customers with their various needs in a courteous and efficient manner. This hourly position offers a competitive wage ranging from $15.00 to $18.75 per hour, dependent on location, experience, and position. Additionally, associates working overnight between 12am and 6am are eligible for a $1.50 per hour shift differential, incentivizing those available for late shifts.
Your primary responsibility will be to engage with customers by promptly and warmly addressing their needs, whether it is operating the cash register, handling payments, or activating fuel and gift cards. You will also participate in age verification for restricted products, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies. Preparing food items such as breakfast dishes, built-to-order sandwiches, specialty beverages, pizzas, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the coffee station will be part of your daily duties. The role also includes stock management, keeping shelves fresh, full, and inviting, and ensuring a clean and safe store environment by following established procedures and guidelines.
The position requires strong communication skills and a positive attitude, essential for thriving in Wawa's fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Candidates should be at least 16 years old and possess reliable transportation to fulfill job responsibilities effectively. The company is committed to supporting its associates not only through competitive pay but by providing extensive benefits covering medical, dental, vision, and mental health care, in addition to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k) retirement savings with matching contributions, education assistance programs, paid parental leave, various wellness programs, flexible scheduling, and employee discounts.
Wawa is dedicated to equal employment opportunity and ensures fair treatment and non-discrimination in its employment practices. The company welcomes and supports applicants and associates from diverse backgrounds and provides reasonable accommodations during the application process as needed. Working as a CSA at Wawa means becoming part of a passionate team focused on making every day a little brighter, contributing to a successful and enjoyable work culture while gaining valuable customer service experience in a dynamic retail setting.
