Job Description

Wawa is a renowned convenience store and gas station chain known for its commitment to exceptional customer service, quality food offerings, and community involvement. Founded in 1964, Wawa has grown to become a beloved brand across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, offering a unique blend of convenience, speed, and friendly service. The company's hallmark is its dedication to making life better every day through small but meaningful interactions, whether it's through a smile, a fresh hoagie, or a seamless customer experience. At Wawa, Associates are considered the secret ingredient to the brand's success, embodying the spirit of teamwork, care, and a relentless drive to brighten each day for customers and colleagues alike. The company fosters a supportive and inclusive workplace culture that nurtures personal and professional growth, offering opportunities for employees to build valuable skills and advance their careers while contributing positively to their communities.

The role of a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Wawa is both dynamic and rewarding. As the friendly face of the store, the CSA is central to delivering the "wow" factor in customer interactions. This position involves various responsibilities that revolve around greeting customers warmly, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously, and preparing high-quality food and beverage items such as made-to-order sandwiches, specialty coffee drinks, and pizzas. The CSA operates the cash register, manages payments including activating fuel and gift cards, and assists with lottery and age-restricted product verifications. Additionally, Associates help maintain store presentation by restocking shelves, ensuring cleanliness and safety, and performing housekeeping duties to create an inviting shopping environment. This role requires flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Wawa offers competitive compensation for CSAs, with hourly wages ranging from $17.25 to $21.25 based on experience, position, and location. Employees also benefit from a $1.50 shift differential for hours worked overnight between 12 am and 6 am. Beyond pay, Wawa extends a comprehensive benefits package to its Associates, designed to support them financially, physically, and emotionally. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage, access to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), 401(k) retirement plans with matching contributions, education assistance programs, paid parental leave, store discounts, paid time off, flexible scheduling, and various wellness programs. Wawa is committed to providing accommodations during the application process to ensure accessibility for all candidates, reflecting the company’s strong values of fairness and respect.

Working as a CSA at Wawa means joining a team that values collaboration and community. The environment encourages team players who are enthusiastic about making a difference each day. With an emphasis on inclusive hiring practices, Wawa ensures all Associates are treated equitably regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or other protected characteristics. The CSA role is an excellent opportunity for individuals 16 years or older with reliable transportation who thrive in fast-paced settings, enjoy teamwork, and seek a supportive work environment where their contributions are valued. If you are eager to be part of a brand that prioritizes people first and aims to make every day a little brighter, Wawa invites you to soar with them and grow your career as a Customer Service Associate.
