Job Description

Wawa, Inc. is a renowned convenience store and gas station chain that has built a strong reputation in the retail sector by prioritizing customer satisfaction, quality products, and a welcoming atmosphere. Known for its commitment to excellent service and community involvement, Wawa operates multiple locations across several states, providing consumers with a unique blend of convenience, fresh food options, and fuel services. The company is highly respected for putting people first, both customers and employees, fostering a culture where doing the right thing is a core value, and continuously striving to make each day brighter through attentive service and quality offerings.

As a Customer Service Associate (CSA) at Wawa, you will be the friendly face that represents the company’s commitment to customer care and service excellence. Your role involves greeting and engaging with customers to ensure their needs are met efficiently and courteously. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy working as part of a team, and have a passion for delivering an exceptional customer experience. Your responsibilities will include preparing popular food items such as breakfast dishes, build-to-order sandwiches, specialty beverages, and pizzas, while also maintaining cleanliness at the coffee station.

In addition to food preparation, the CSA role involves accurate operation of the cash register, handling payments, and activating fuel and gift cards. Associates also assist customers with lottery play and perform ID verification for age-restricted purchases, ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The position demands a focus on maintaining store presentation standards by ensuring shelves are well-stocked and fresh, contributing to an inviting shopping environment. Keeping the store clean and safe by adhering to all policies, procedures, and guidelines is a key part of the job.

Wawa offers a comprehensive package for Associates, including competitive pay with an hourly range between $15.50 and $19.25, which varies based on experience, position, and location. Additionally, there is a $1.50 shift differential for hours worked overnight from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. Beyond the paycheck, Wawa is dedicated to supporting its employees through an extensive benefits program that includes medical, dental, vision, and mental health coverage. Associates are eligible for employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), 401(k) plans with matching contributions, education assistance programs, paid parental leave, paid time off, store discounts, flexible scheduling, and access to wellness initiatives.

This role is well-suited for individuals who value teamwork, customer service, and a dynamic work environment. Wawa believes in equal opportunity employment and maintains a fair work environment free from discrimination or harassment. The company also supports reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees in line with legal requirements. The CSA position is an excellent entry point into the company, offering opportunities for growth and development within a company known for its vibrant culture and commitment to employee success.
