Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One or more years of relevant experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or Spanish
  • Must complete background investigation and pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Must be eligible for CBP seal and pass criminal background check
  • Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, push, and pull as needed
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 70 pounds
  • Must maintain professional demeanor and customer service focus
  • Ability to follow detailed operating and security procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and/or Spanish
  • Effective interpersonal skills and professional conduct
  • Ability to understand and comply with airport procedures and instructions
  • Ability to work well under pressure in high volume public settings
  • Eligible to pass criminal background check and obtain airport ID
  • Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within guidelines

Job Duties

  • Communicate with supervisor on duty at all times
  • Review daily manning and assignments
  • Provide wheelchair services ensuring all security procedures are met
  • Escort passengers from assigned doors through customs and baggage claim to curb
  • Return wheelchair to initial position and report completion
  • Provide security at checkpoints by verifying boarding passes, passenger baggage, and employee IDs
  • Monitor security at bag rooms ensuring valid stickers and proper bag handling
  • Stand guard at assigned gates securing jet bridges and airplane doors
  • Monitor cleaner counts and document flight arrival and pushback times
  • Oversee security at the ramp including baggage loading and perimeter control
  • Assist at airline counters with baggage weighing, tagging, and loading
  • Report irregularities to prevent losses and damage
