Job Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Capability to lift or move up to 70 pounds occasionally
  • Prior experience in customer service or airport operations preferred
  • Availability to work part-time shifts at Miami International Airport
  • Compliance with airport security and identification requirements

Job Duties

  • Maintain communication with the supervisor on duty at all times
  • Review and adhere to daily manning and assignment schedules
  • Provide wheelchair services ensuring all security procedures are met
  • Escort passengers through customs and baggage claim to the curb area
  • Return wheelchairs to their original locations and inform supervisors
  • Monitor security at checkpoints by verifying passengers’ boarding passes and baggage
  • Ensure valid airport identification for employees passing security checkpoints
  • Oversee security at the bag room, ensuring proper tagging and handling of luggage
  • Guard assigned gates by securing jet bridge access and monitoring airplane doors
  • Count and scan cleaners with security wands and document relevant details
  • Manage security at the ramp by counting all baggage loaded onto the airplane
  • Prevent unauthorized access beyond airplane perimeter except for authorized personnel
  • Assist passengers and airline employees at counters with baggage weighing and tagging
  • Report any irregularities to prevent losses and damage
  • Stand or walk for the duration of shifts while performing physical activities including lifting up to 70 pounds
