This posting is for an hourly position as a Store Assistant Manager at Five Below. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring outstanding customer service by leading the store’s crew members and fostering an engaging and friendly atmosphere. The Assistant Manager is tasked with ensuring a fast, friendly checkout experience by training the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service standards. They play a vital role in achieving customer service score goals set by the District Manager, and they handle front-end operations such as merchandising of candy, soda, and snacks to meet brand standards. The position also involves overseeing opening and closing procedures, maintaining store cleanliness and readiness, and performing store manager duties in the manager’s absence.

The Assistant Manager partners closely with the store manager to recruit, train, coach, and supervise crew members to deliver high-quality service and operations. They are responsible for reviewing and reacting to corporate communications promptly and collaborating with store leadership on merchandising and recovery strategies. Additionally, this role entails performing store maintenance tasks including waste disposal, cleaning, and stock room organization. Candidates should be prepared to embrace a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including day, evening, weekend, and occasional overnight shifts or travel.

This position requires a leader who can maintain composure under pressure, think creatively, and multitask effectively while communicating clearly and positively with customers, managers, and associates. With a minimum of two years of management experience preferred, education at the high school level or equivalent is required, and college experience is a plus. Job Duties

  • Ensures all crew members are wowing the customer through personal contact with customers
  • Trains the crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience
  • Responsible for leading their assigned store to achieve and maintain customer service score goals
  • Leads front end operations ensuring front end merchandising meets brand standards
  • Ensures all front-end equipment is in working order and associates are trained
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures and maintaining store cleanliness
  • Performs store manager duties in the absence of the manager
  • Partners with the store manager to recruit, train, coach, develop and supervise all crew members
  • Reviews all corporate communications and responds accordingly
  • Partners with store leadership team on merchandising procedures and recovery
  • Performs store maintenance including cleaning and stock room upkeep
