Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • read, write, fluently speak and understand English
  • bilingual language skills may be required in some locations
  • applicable valid driver's license as required by local authorities
  • completion of pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check and/or fingerprinting
  • must fulfill FAA criminal background checks for unescorted airport security access if applicable
  • must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges if applicable
  • must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or international equivalent
  • fluency in English in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding
  • applicable valid driver's license as required locally
  • completion of pre-employment drug screen and background checks
  • ability to fulfill FAA criminal background checks for airport security access
  • authorization to work in the U.S.
  • bilingual language skills may be required
  • working knowledge of Sabre or other Passenger Service Systems preferred
  • previous face-to-face customer service experience preferred
  • experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Greeting customers when they enter the airport or arrive in the ticket area
  • monitor the ticket counter area to ensure it is in compliance with safety policies and procedures
  • assist customers with self-service kiosk check-in and kiosk baggage processing
  • service and maintain kiosk machines
  • troubleshoot kiosk technology issues
  • communicate with IT about kiosk technology issues
  • verify customers' carry-on baggage compliance with FAA/American Airlines policies
  • verify and clear travel documents for international customers
  • assist customers with checked baggage processing
  • queue lines in ticket counter areas based on departure times or assistance needed
  • accept and activate customers' self-tagged baggage
  • physically move baggage throughout the ticket counter area
  • assist customers with assistive devices, sporting equipment, and oversized items
  • refer customers to customer service agents when appropriate
  • perform clearance and verification of documents at kiosks
  • assist with physical movement of non-ambulatory customers
  • assist unaccompanied minors with boarding and deplaning
  • provide customers with gate information and directions
  • perform paging activities when required
  • perform additional related duties as operationally necessary
  • report to position on time and complete job-relevant trainings
  • adhere to government regulations and company policies
  • wear uniforms as required
  • provide quality customer service
  • use multiple internal systems during customer interactions
