The Day Porter role at CCS Facility Services involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderly condition of common areas within office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional properties. This position is vital in creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for building occupants and visitors. The Day Porter will perform a series of cleaning and maintenance duties such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome surfaces on doors, vacuuming elevator cabs, inspecting building exteriors for trash, cleaning ashtrays and sand urns, emptying exterior trash receptacles, and checking restrooms twice daily. Additional responsibilities include sweeping stairwells and landings, maintaining landscaped areas, and assisting the building engineer as needed.
This role requires an individual who is dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious, capable of following instructions and responding positively to management direction. The Day Porter is expected to ensure safety standards are maintained and report any unsafe conditions or maintenance issues promptly. Furthermore, the position demands moderate physical activity, including exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, weather conditions, and moderate noise levels. Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- polish chrome on lobby doors
- vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- check restrooms twice daily
- vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- sweep building entrances
- clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
- report any solicitors to the Management Office
- police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc.
- empty all trash receptacles
- vacuum carpeted floors
- dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
