Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in maintenance and custodial duties required
- valid Connecticut Driver's License required
- ability to perform physical labor including lifting and working on ladders
- successful completion of a physical demands exam
- successful completion of pre-employment drug screening test
- successful background check
- availability to work Thursday-Monday 7:30am-4:00pm and summer hours Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in maintenance and custodial duties required
- Connecticut Driver's License required
Job Duties
- Sweep, dust, mop, clean windows, wash walls, clean lavatories, polish metal and wood, wash, strip, and wax floors
- collect and dispose of rubbish
- lock and unlock premises
- move furniture
- aid in setting up for events as required
- shovel snow and sand in the immediate area around doorways
- perform grounds work around immediate vicinity of buildings
- conduct minor preventive maintenance inside and outside of buildings
- use hand tools to facilitate cleaning
- unclog toilets, sinks, and showers with the aid of a plunger
- change ceiling tiles including cutting tiles by consent
- work from 8-ft ladder to facilitate cleaning
- change incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs
- spot painting (no patching)
- platform cleaning by consent
- perform other related work as required
- drive the trash truck
