This position offers a set pay rate of $17.95 per hour with a work shift scheduled from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in various public and workspaces such as executive and command areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad variety of cleaning and building maintenance tasks designed to uphold Chimes’ high standards and ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all building occupants.

In this role, employees are expected to adhere strictly to the agency's policies and contract specifications. The position requires compliance with dress codes and personal hygiene standards, illustrating the company’s emphasis on professionalism. Key responsibilities include thorough cleaning and disinfecting of restrooms, washable surfaces, kitchenettes, fitness centers, and various building facilities. The custodian will also be responsible for descaling showers and toilets, maintaining supplies in restrooms, vacuuming and mopping floors, and properly handling trash and recycling. Additional tasks include dusting, polishing furniture and metal surfaces, cleaning glass surfaces, and maintaining elevator and escalator cleanliness.

Chimes emphasizes safety and readiness, so this position also involves performing or assisting with special restoration work and emergency cleaning when necessary. The custodian must keep all tools and supplies clean and orderly and ensure public ashtrays and urns are emptied and cleaned. Given the essential nature of the position, employees may be required to remain onsite or report to work during institutional emergencies to maintain facility operations.

The role demands physical stamina, as custodians must stand and walk for long periods, climb stairs, and lift or push weights of up to 50 lbs. Working conditions might include dusty environments or adverse weather. The role requires an individual who can work independently with limited supervision, follow detailed instructions, maintain alertness, comply with safety protocols, operate equipment safely, and report maintenance or supply needs promptly.

Ideal candidates will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably six months of custodial experience along with relevant training.
