Job Description
Chimes is a purpose-driven organization that focuses on providing specialized support and services to individuals and communities. With a commitment to improving the quality of life for those it serves, Chimes operates with core values emphasizing personal and professional growth, community engagement, and dedication to excellence. As an established entity in the service industry, Chimes offers diverse opportunities for meaningful employment within a supportive and structured workplace environment. This particular role fits within Chimes' wider framework of maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities to support its overarching mission and operational activities.
This role is a Custodial position based in North Carolina with a scheduled shift from Monday to Friday, 5:30 pm to 1:30 am, inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break. The hourly pay rate is $17.75 USD, reflecting a competitive wage aligned with industry standards for custodial services. The position requires compliance with North Carolina’s REAL ID regulations for access to the installation, underscoring the secured nature of the facility.
Under the general supervision of the Project Manager and direct supervision of the on-site supervisor, with additional oversight from the Contracts Administrator, the Custodian will provide a variety of cleaning and building services in both public and work spaces. The role encompasses essential daily cleaning tasks such as disinfecting restrooms, descaling sanitary fixtures, maintaining cleanliness of kitchens and fitness centers, and ensuring floors and surfaces are polished and presentable. Attention to detail and adherence to contract specifications are critical, as the role contributes significantly to the health, safety, and comfort of all facility users.
Custodians will also perform secondary functions like inventory assistance, maintenance of cleaning equipment, floor refinishing, and event setup support. Physical stamina and the ability to handle moderate lifting and various physical activities during shifts are essential for success. Employees are considered essential personnel, meaning they may be required to remain or report to work during institutional emergencies to maintain facility operations.
Chimes values safety, reliability, and professionalism; therefore, custodians must comply with uniform and hygiene standards, company policies, and security protocols. The role demands responsibility, punctuality, and dedication to teamwork and continuous improvement through participation in required meetings and training. Full-time employees (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) enjoy comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, life and disability insurance, paid time off, retirement plans with employer matching, and various employee recognition and discount programs.
This Custodial role delivers not only a competitive salary but also a rewarding career within a mission-focused organization where employees’ contributions directly impact organizational success and community wellbeing. Candidates seeking stable employment in a supportive environment will find this opportunity fulfilling and aligned with their professional and personal growth goals.
