Job Description

The Oneida Nation is a sovereign government located in Wisconsin with a rich cultural heritage and a strong commitment to providing exceptional services and employment opportunities to its community. The Nation operates in a variety of sectors including gaming, which plays a significant role in supporting the community's economic development and welfare. Within this vibrant environment, the casino stands out as Wisconsin's first choice for casino entertainment, known for its welcoming atmosphere and commitment to professionalism and customer satisfaction. The gaming division of the Oneida Nation strives to uphold its values of professionalism, accountability, respect, integrity, and sincerity in all aspects of its operations. These core principles guide the team to work together in providing a friendly, safe, and fun gaming experience to all patrons and employees alike. Employment with the Oneida Nation gaming division offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $15.45 per hour, which is non-negotiable. Employees can anticipate an increase in wage after the successful completion of a probationary period. Additionally, the position offers shift differentials including an extra $1.00 per hour for weekday night shifts from Monday to Thursday, and up to $3.00 per hour for weekend and night shifts, recognizing the unique demands of these working hours.

This position is for a Custodial Worker within the Gaming Division. The Custodial Worker will perform basic and routine custodial duties essential for the upkeep and cleanliness of the gaming environment. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and appeal of the casino facilities to ensure a positive experience for both internal and external customers. Working in this position requires flexibility as schedules include all shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties, reflecting the 24/7 nature of casino operations. Responsibilities include emptying refuse containers, refilling dispensers such as soap and paper products, cleaning various surfaces including mirrors, windows (inside and out), window tracks, dust mopping and wet mopping floors, and vacuuming carpets. The work environment is dynamic and can be moderately loud, often involving exposure to odors, dust, dirt, fumes, and chemicals, which necessitates adherence to safety protocols such as the use of safety-toe shoes, goggles, and gloves where required.

Physical demands of the position include frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and the ability to carry loads up to 20 pounds regularly. Occasionally, the role involves climbing, reaching, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavier loads up to 50 pounds, and carrying up to 70 pounds with assistance. The position is suitable for candidates who are at least 18 years of age and who either possess a High School Diploma, GED, or HSED Certification within one year of employment, with an exemption for applicants aged 50 and above.

Joining the Oneida Nation Gaming Division means becoming part of a professional team dedicated to quality customer service, regulatory compliance, and cultural respect. The gaming sector serves as a key employer in the area and plays an essential role in sustaining and enriching the community. The Nation is committed to a discrimination-free workplace but extends employment preferences to individuals of Indian ancestry and veterans in accordance with legal requirements. This position offers not just a job but a chance to contribute to a respected and vibrant community through a role that supports casino operations in an integral way.
