The Custodian role at SBM is crucial in maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety across assigned areas. Job Requirements

  • 3-6 months training or experience preferred
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • may be required to have a valid driver's license
  • completed all safety and task training certification
  • may be required to be forklift certified

  • ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

  • knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment
  • knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Job Duties

  • Perform janitorial duties
  • perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
  • perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste
  • operate motorized cleaning equipment
  • maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
  • report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
  • comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
