The Custodial Event Coordinator position at SSC Services for Education requires an individual who is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the functions and activities within their department. This critical role involves overseeing existing programs, services, policies, and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance. The coordinator will monitor the quality and flow of work, ensuring that workloads are completed on time and in accordance with established facility standards and regulations. Using computerized programs, the role involves managing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, construction projects, financial management, and energy controls. Significant responsibility includes preparing and managing departmental budgets, which requires sound financial acumen and strategic oversight.

Moreover, the Custodial Event Coordinator provides guidance, training, and motivation to staff, playing a key role in team development and performance management. Building and maintaining effective client rapport is essential for successful service delivery, and the coordinator is expected to cultivate strong working relationships with clients. Monitoring employee work performance and preparing performance evaluations for personnel is also an integral part of this role, requiring strong leadership and communication skills. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years hospital engineering maintenance experience at senior level
  • Experience in hospital project and construction management
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, NFPA and healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and staff
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance and energy management programs

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years hospital engineering maintenance experience at Director or Assistant Director level required
  • Experience in hospital project and construction management preferred
  • Working knowledge of the Joint Commission, NFPA, and other healthcare regulatory agencies

Job Duties

  • Review and evaluate existing programs, services, policies and procedures
  • Monitor flow and quality of work to assure timely completion and adherence to standards and regulations using computerized maintenance and energy control programs
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets
  • Provide guidance, training and motivation to staff
