Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in banquet and/or restaurant kitchen settings
  • Ability to perform culinary skills from basic to advanced
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food handlers certification
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Good communication skills
  • Experience as an advanced line cook preferred
  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred on banquet and/or restaurant line
  • Ability to perform basic, intermediate, and advanced culinary skills
  • Prepared to stand and walk majority of the shift
  • Ability to lead team in Culinary Leader's absence
  • Flexible scheduling availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to self-monitor daily tasks with limited supervision
  • Food handlers card required

Job Duties

  • Understand kitchen operations within the hotel, specifically banquet and restaurant line
  • Utilize culinary skills to prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
  • Produce consistent, quality products meeting guest needs promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas according to health and safety standards
  • Train department staff and assume responsibilities in Sous Chef's absence
  • Uphold health and safety standards including sanitation and hygiene practices
  • Assist with monitoring payroll costs and overtime
  • Supervise hourly cooks
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
