Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Food handling license required
  • Available to work any shift including holidays
  • Ability to coach and develop kitchen staff
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Self-motivated, organized, and positive attitude
  • Knowledge of licensing, labor, health, safety, and fire regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to speak Spanish to assist ESL staff is strongly encouraged
  • Current Serve Safe certification or willingness to achieve manager level certification within 6 months
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Leadership skills including directing, encouraging, and reprimanding staff

Job Qualifications

  • Professional cooking and knife handling skills
  • Previous cook lead experience
  • Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
  • Computer literacy for inventory and ordering
  • Commitment to quality service and food knowledge

Job Duties

  • Manage daily kitchen operations and supervise hourly kitchen staff
  • Serve as Kitchen Manager on Duty in absence of Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager
  • Lead expediting during busy periods to ensure fast and accurate food preparation
  • Mentor and coach kitchen team members to improve performance and develop skills
  • Oversee food safety, sanitation, and adherence to recipe standards
  • Coordinate inventory management including ordering and stock level checks
  • Conduct line-checks and maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas
