As a Culinary Supervisor at Flix Brewhouse, also known internally as the Heart of House (HOH) Supervisor, you will play a critical role in managing the daily operations of the kitchen and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will supervise and support a team of hourly kitchen staff, lead food preparation, and manage kitchen operations during your shifts. Your leadership as the Kitchen Manager on Duty (KMOD) in the absence of senior kitchen management will be essential in maintaining smooth workflows, efficient cooking processes, and consistent food delivery.
This position is hourly and offers a competitive salary ranging from $18 to $22 per hour, inclusive of a comprehensive benefits package. The Culinary Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared in accordance with Flix Brewhouse’s recipes and standards, maintaining an organized and sanitary kitchen environment, and controlling food costs through meticulous inventory management and waste reduction. The role also involves mentoring and coaching kitchen team members, facilitating training, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling and hygiene laws, licensing, labor laws, and fire safety procedures.
Ideal candidates embody a positive, self-motivated work ethic and possess exceptional communication skills in English, with Spanish language skills considered a strong advantage. The ability to lead and develop a team, maintain composure under pressure, and multitask efficiently in a busy kitchen environment is crucial. Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and operating kitchen equipment safely.

Job Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- Food handling license required
- Available to work any shift including holidays
- Ability to coach and develop kitchen staff
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Self-motivated, organized, and positive attitude
- Knowledge of licensing, labor, health, safety, and fire regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to speak Spanish to assist ESL staff is strongly encouraged
- Current Serve Safe certification or willingness to achieve manager level certification within 6 months
- Ability to work calmly under pressure
- Leadership skills including directing, encouraging, and reprimanding staff
Job Qualifications
- Professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Previous cook lead experience

Job Duties
- Manage daily kitchen operations and supervise hourly kitchen staff
- Serve as Kitchen Manager on Duty in absence of Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager
- Lead expediting during busy periods to ensure fast and accurate food preparation
- Mentor and coach kitchen team members to improve performance and develop skills
- Oversee food safety, sanitation, and adherence to recipe standards
- Coordinate inventory management including ordering and stock level checks
- Conduct line-checks and maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas
