The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is designed for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and maintaining high standards of sanitation and safety in a kitchen environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and timely preparation of meals while supporting the managerial team in daily operational duties such as maintaining cash receipts, meal records, and completing daily reports. The Food Service Worker will prepare a variety of food and baked items following a planned menu, ensure proper food storage and sanitation practices, and serve meals according to established schedules and department policies. Additionally, this role involves the use and care of kitchen equipment, including knives, and adherence to food safety regulations.

The role requires a keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills to maintain clean and orderly work and storage areas, including major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking equipment. The Food Service Worker will also oversee food temperature requirements and coordinate with the manager daily to ensure the accurate preparation of the menu. Physical demands may include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory to comply with health and safety standards.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items and beverages
  • Add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • Meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing as required
  • Use uniforms and personal protective equipment as mandated
