Job Requirements

  • Be between the ages of 17-40
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • possess a high school diploma or GED
  • submit to background and medical screening
  • receive a passing score on the ASVAB
  • meet physical fitness standards required by the U.S. Army

Job Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED
  • interest in cooking, home economics, health, mathematics, accounting, and chemistry
  • pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
  • ability to work in both team and independent settings
  • physical fitness to handle kitchen and field duties
  • capability to learn and follow detailed instructions

Job Duties

  • Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam, and saute as prescribed by Army recipes
  • operate, maintain, and clean field kitchen equipment
  • perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment
  • prepare and serve meals in both field and garrison settings
  • order and inspect food supplies
  • maintain kitchen safety and sanitation
  • collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure meal quality
