Job Requirements

  • Previous job experience may qualify for reduced training timeline and promotion
  • Willingness to complete additional full funded training programs for advanced certifications

  • Must meet physical fitness standards required by the U.S. Army
  • Eligibility to work for the U.S. Army and meet all background and security clearance requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of the 19-week Culinary Specialist training program or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and menus
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and sanitation procedures
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Certification in food handling and safety preferred

Job Duties

  • Attend a 19-week paid training program to gain skills and certifications in menu planning, catering, expert cooking techniques, culinary art design, food preparation, food storage, inventory, sanitation standards, forecasting, food inspection, food quality standards, cleanliness standards, station establishment, hospitality services, and temperature control point
  • Apply acquired culinary skills to prepare and cook meals that meet high quality and safety standards
  • Manage food inventory and storage to ensure proper stock rotation and minimize waste
  • Enforce sanitation and cleanliness protocols to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment
  • Provide hospitality services that support the morale and welfare of personnel
  • Participate in forecasting and food inspection processes to ensure food availability and compliance
  • Establish and maintain efficient kitchen stations to optimize workflow and service delivery
