Job Requirements
- Be between the ages of 17-40
- Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Possess a high school diploma or GED
- Submit to background and medical screening
- Receive a passing score on the ASVAB
- Willingness to complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 8 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
- Ability to work under physical and mental stress in varying environments
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of Basic Combat Training
- Successful completion of Advanced Individual Training
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and food safety procedures
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory and supply management
- Strong interest in cooking and food service
- Good physical fitness and stamina
Job Duties
- Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam, and saute as prescribed by Army recipes
- Operate, maintain, and clean field kitchen equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment
- Prepare and service meals in both field and home station environments
- Order and inspect food supplies
- Keep the kitchen safe and sanitary
- Assist in training and mentoring fellow culinary staff
