Job Requirements

  • 2-year college degree required
  • 3 years work experience required
  • management experience preferred
  • high volume food service experience preferred
  • ServSafe or similar program certification required
  • desired experience working with HACCP principles
  • desired ability to speak effectively before groups
  • desired experience managing Classified Civil Service, Union, and Student staffs

  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts
  • 3 years work experience
  • management experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership to food production team
  • supervise assistant sous chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff
  • coordinate preparation and cooking activities to meet service deadlines
  • develop new menu items
  • train staff in food production, preparation, and garnishing techniques
  • enforce quality standards and sanitation plans
  • requisition food and related products
  • manage sanitation procedures in compliance with HACCP and food safety codes
  • initiate partnerships with other departments to enhance service delivery
  • participate actively in food production activities
