Job Description
American Senior Communities (ASC) is a reputable senior living organization that has been providing compassionate, high-quality care since 2000. With over 100 communities across Indiana, ASC is deeply rooted in Hoosier hospitality and dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors. The organization operates with core values summarized in the acronym C.A.R.E., which stands for Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, and Excellence. These values guide every interaction with residents, team members, and the broader community. ASC is not just a workplace but a calling for those passionate about senior care, striving to create a supportive and enriching environment for both residents and employees.
ASC is currently seeking dedicated Culinary Servers to join their team at Aster Place Assisted Living. This role is available for both full-time and part-time candidates, offering competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package. The Culinary Server position plays a vital role in ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and delicious meals while contributing to a positive dining experience. Servers collaborate closely with culinary leaders to meet residents' individual dietary needs and preferences, fostering an atmosphere where dining is both enjoyable and supportive of resident wellbeing.
As a Culinary Server, you will assist in preparing meal components according to specific menus and diet requirements. This includes portioning food items correctly, setting up trays and carts, and supporting service staff during meal times. You will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness by collecting soiled trays, washing dishes, and cleaning equipment as necessary to uphold sanitary standards. The role demands a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
American Senior Communities values the growth and development of their employees, offering opportunities to earn certifications such as Sanitation and Safe Food Handling while working. Prior experience in restaurant serving is preferred but not mandatory, as a willingness to perform routine tasks and effectively collaborate with the culinary team is essential. ASC’s supportive work culture encourages continuous learning, community engagement, and professional advancement within the senior care industry.
The position comes with numerous benefits designed to support employee health, wellness, and work-life balance. Employees can access their earnings before payday, participate in referral bonus programs, and utilize a variety of retirement and insurance plans including 401(k), medical, vision, dental, and free life insurance. The organization also provides paid time off, employee discount programs, wellness coaching, Employee Assistance Programs, and career development pathways through partnerships with local colleges and scholarship programs.
Joining American Senior Communities as a Culinary Server offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while advancing your career in a caring, values-driven environment. If you are committed to providing exceptional service with compassion and accountability, this role provides an excellent platform to contribute your skills and grow professionally within a respected and well-established senior care organization.
