Job Description

Outback Steakhouse is a renowned full-service restaurant chain well known for its commitment to delivering high-quality steakhouse fare and exceptional customer service. As part of Bloomin' Brands, a leader in the casual dining industry, Outback Steakhouse boasts a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere where guests enjoy signature dishes like the Bloomin' Onion and center-cut sirloin. The company places a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and hospitality, making it a favorite dining destination nationwide.

The Culinary Manager role at Outback Steakhouse is a pivotal leadership position that centers around managing the "Back of House" kitchen operations to ensure excellent food quality and efficient service. This role requires a dedicated professional who can adeptly balance the artistry of food preparation with the operational and business aspects of restaurant management. As a Culinary Manager, you will be the backbone of the kitchen, leading and inspiring your team to uphold the restaurant's rigorous standards for every dish that leaves the kitchen.

Your responsibilities will span a wide range of operational and leadership duties that impact guest satisfaction and the restaurant’s overall success. You will oversee daily kitchen shifts, ensuring that food is prepared and presented flawlessly according to Outback Steakhouse recipes and quality standards. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen environment by enforcing strict sanitation and safety protocols to safeguard both staff and guests.

Beyond the operational tasks, the Culinary Manager plays a critical role in team development and talent acquisition. You will be involved in recruiting, interviewing, and training new kitchen team members, fostering a proactive, energetic environment where staff feel supported and motivated to grow professionally. Mentoring and guiding hourly team members to help them achieve their career goals is a key aspect of this role.

Coordination and communication skills are essential, as you will manage staff schedules to ensure efficient coverage during peak service times. You will also act as a liaison between the kitchen and management teams, collaborating closely to address any challenges and drive continuous improvement. The Culinary Manager is also the restaurant's ambassador within the local community, participating in marketing and outreach efforts to build brand loyalty and attract returning guests.

This position typically requires flexibility to work diverse schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, acknowledging the dynamic nature of the restaurant industry. While compensation varies by location, there is potential for performance-based bonuses, reflecting the restaurant’s focus on rewarding excellence and leadership.

Outback Steakhouse values diversity and inclusion, fostering an equitable workplace where individuals are respected regardless of their background. This is a chance to join a company committed to growth, innovation, and career advancement within a supportive and dynamic environment. If you are passionate about culinary excellence and leadership in the hospitality industry, the Culinary Manager position at Outback Steakhouse offers a rewarding and impactful career opportunity.
