Job Description
The Craig, located at 5500 SW 9th Ave, Amarillo, Texas 79106, is part of Lifespace Communities, a highly respected senior living organization known for its compassionate and purpose-driven approach to retirement living. Lifespace, headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, and Dallas, Texas, ranks among the largest non-profit senior living providers in the United States, employing over 4,100 team members and serving more than 5,400 residents. Founded on a commitment to empowering people to live their aspirations, Lifespace offers vibrant communities where residents experience meaningful, personalized care and services in a supportive and enriching environment.
At The Craig, part of the Lifespace family, we invite you to join our Culinary Leadership team as a Culinary Server Lead. This role is an integral part of delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents, where thoughtful service meets dedication to quality and hospitality. As a Culinary Server Lead, you will play a critical leadership role in managing daily operations within the culinary venue to ensure seamless service and resident satisfaction.
The position offers a competitive pay range of $13.62 to $18.74 per hour and embodies the Lifespace values of teamwork, growth, and purposeful living. You will be responsible for directing daily coverage to complete all work assignments, ensuring proper coverage by replacing or reassigning team members as necessary. You will also orient new team members on department procedures and the appropriate use of all department equipment, fostering a cohesive and well-trained culinary team.
Your role extends beyond management to direct interaction with residents and guests. Welcoming them warmly, coordinating seating locations, and providing a professional and courteous dining experience are all part of the responsibilities. You will accurately take orders using point-of-sale systems, facilitate take-out orders, and oversee room service menu orders to deliver a smooth and satisfying dining experience for everyone.
Additional duties include auditing each server’s side job assignments for completeness, giving performance feedback, clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring all room service trays are collected after dining times. This position is perfect for candidates who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a senior living environment, enjoy leading a team, and thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented role.
Lifespace Communities provides more than just a job — it offers the opportunity to build a rewarding career with an organization committed to personal and professional growth. With more than 40 years of success behind us, we continually seek dedicated individuals eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors through teamwork and compassionate care. If you are excited to learn, grow, and contribute your talents in a purpose-driven environment, this role as Culinary Server Lead at The Craig represents a fantastic opportunity to live your purpose, grow your career, and thrive through teamwork while creating memorable, personalized experiences for our residents.
