Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in commercial kitchen or catering
  • ServSafe Instructor/Proctor status or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • valid driver’s license
  • experience training employees in commercial kitchen preferred

Job Duties

  • manage day to day operations of the Culinary Job Training program including curriculum development and instruction
  • administer ServSafe training program
  • teach job readiness skills
  • recruit and onboard new students
  • evaluate program and ensure quality standards
  • mentor students and monitor progress
  • enforce Code of Conduct, food safety regulations and standard operating procedures
  • assist with food production as needed
  • plan and execute culinary training opportunities and ServSafe courses for professionals and partners
  • communicate ingredient, supply, and equipment needs to Culinary Manager
  • schedule and oversee catering and food trailer events
  • ensure food truck readiness for events and storage
  • work with Culinary Manager to ensure proper invoice coding
  • track and input data for grants and reports
  • assist with food safety and culinary needs for NHFB events and fundraisers
  • uphold kitchen standards per Feeding America contract and state/local regulations
