Job Description

Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and CSRA, located in Augusta, Georgia, is part of a historic movement founded by Mr. Edgar J. Helms, Jr. in Boston in 1902. Mr. Helms' foundational philosophy was simple yet profound: people desire "not charity, but a chance" to work. This empowering belief helped establish a network of more than 200 independent Goodwill locations across North America and 23 countries worldwide. The organization remains dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities and career development to uplift individuals out of poverty and help them achieve a fuller measure of the American Dream.

Among its educational ventures is Helms College (HC), a unique middle skills experiential learning institution. Helms College is the only licensed, accredited, and federal financial aid/GI Bill-eligible college globally affiliated with a Goodwill organization. It offers an innovative model for higher education, focusing on applied business learning ventures intertwined with social enterprise, specifically designed to equip students with vocational skills needed for sustainable success in today’s workforce.

Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and CSRA is currently seeking a Part-Time Culinary Arts Instructor to join its educational team. This role provides an exciting opportunity for qualified culinary professionals to contribute to the mission of transforming lives through education, skill development, and career readiness. The instructor will be responsible for educating students in culinary arts according to a structured curriculum designed to foster practical skills and knowledge essential for careers in culinary trades.

The Part-Time Culinary Arts Instructor position is essential in delivering high-quality, hands-on training to students who aspire to enter or advance in the culinary profession. The instructor will also monitor students’ progress and provide support in job placement upon successful completion of the program. This role demands excellent communication skills, a thorough understanding of culinary techniques and standards, and a passion for educating and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.

By joining Goodwill Industries, the instructor will be part of a life-changing mission inspired by the organization’s founder. Candidates should be energized by the belief that individuals with low wealth or facing barriers can achieve maximum abundant living through spiritual awakening, middle-skills trades education, and career development services. This position offers a meaningful way to help others shape their futures while working with a community-focused, socially responsible organization dedicated to personal and professional growth.

This position, based in Augusta, provides a flexible and supportive environment, encouraging instructors to develop their teaching approaches within Goodwill’s values. The successful candidate will be computer literate, have strong organizational and time management skills, and pay great attention to detail. Preference will be given to those holding a Certified Culinary Educator (CCE) credential from the American Culinary Federation or equivalent certification and possessing prior culinary training and experience.

Join a dedicated team at Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia and CSRA, where your skills as a culinary educator can directly influence the lives of students working toward successful and independent futures in the culinary arts industry.
