The role offered at Eventide Williamsburg is for a part-time Culinary Cook working from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends. This position requires flexibility as it includes working during weekends and holidays on a rotational basis. The Culinary Cook position is pivotal in maintaining the standard and quality of food services across all Eventide Williamsburg operations. The Culinary Cook is responsible for preparing large quantities of food following federal, state, and corporate standards to ensure food safety and quality. This includes preparing dishes for living communities, Eventide Residences, Meals on Wheels, and catering events. The ideal candidate will take on responsibilities beyond cooking, such as assisting in training new culinary staff, improving recipes, monitoring leftovers, and supporting kitchen operations related to food supply. Skilled in using various kitchen equipment, the Culinary Cook contributes to personalized guest service and works closely with other kitchen staff to keep the workspace sanitary and efficient. This position is critical in Eventide's mission to deliver excellent food services that support the health and well-being of its community members. The role not only requires culinary skills but also strong communication abilities, adherence to safety protocols, and physical capability to manage the demands of a busy kitchen environment. Job Requirements
- At least age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- two years of experience in quantity food production or similar
- prep/cook level food handler permit
- meet vaccination requirements
- ability to safely perform job duties with appropriate physical strength
- ability to communicate in English including medical terminology
- experience with kitchen equipment usage
- availability to work weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- two years of experience in quantity food production in a health care facility or similar competency level preferred
- prep/cook level food handler permit required for Eventide campuses in Lancaster County
- meet Eventide's vaccination requirements
- strong communication skills including English language proficiency
- ability to use standard and specialized kitchen equipment
- physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with federal, state, and corporate standards
- follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving various food items
- operate kitchen equipment to prepare ingredients and meals
- provide personalized service during guest interactions
- estimate food requirements and keep production records
- assist with unloading, receiving, and stocking food supplies
- clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work areas
