Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED required
  • associate or bachelor’s degree preferred with a preference for credentials within culinary related field
  • must have minimum state (FLDOE/CIE) educational requirements plus one year related job experience
  • preferred classroom instructors have teaching and classroom management skills
  • experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred
  • experience working in culinary industry kitchen is preferred
  • valid FL driver’s license and successful level II background check, physical and drug screen
  • must be 21 years of age or older

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • educate participants enrolled in the 420 hour entry-level culinary arts certificate program
  • prepare relevant assignments, document student progress, accountability, and issues
  • utilize lesson plans and activities within the established curriculum
  • teach basic culinary arts techniques including knife skills, kitchen setup, operation, and cleanup
  • educate students about various support positions within the food service industry
  • administer assessments, assign homework, and monitor lab participation
