Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or culinary degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum 3 years chef experience or 5 years heavy kitchen operational management experience
  • Culinary training or certifications is a plus
  • Ability to travel for extended periods up to 60 days
  • Flexibility to work outside regular scheduled hours
  • Experience in menu development and planning
  • Strong teamwork and cooperation skills

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food cost and labor cost management
  • Experience in menu development and planning
  • Strong cooperation and teamwork skills
  • High awareness and follow-through capabilities
  • Sense of urgency in operations
  • Experience with RV and mobile kitchens is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods up to 60 days
  • Flexibility in schedule to meet operational needs including occasional work outside regularly scheduled hours

Job Duties

  • Receives and reviews information from project managers on contracted events
  • May be involved in site walks
  • Completes load lists for events
  • Trains kitchen staff and temporary labor
  • Ensures all menu ingredients are available and loaded
  • Cross checks rentals, staffing and third-party vendors 48 hours before event
  • Supports project managers with rentals check out, inventory, and returns
  • Submits asset information to asset manager for coordination
  • Clearly communicates event details to upper management
  • Reviews load sheets with staff
  • Acts as point of contact for client with the project manager during events when business development staff are not present
  • Submits necessary reports timely and accurately
  • Oversees and directs event staff
  • Coordinates pre-event huddles
  • Reviews event timelines with staff and management
  • Supports project managers with positions and tasks
  • Conducts final walk 30 minutes before event starts
  • Assists with control of prep, coordination, and timing of food and beverage
  • Communicates with staff concerning timelines
  • Manages guest space cleanliness including kitchen, food stations, tables
  • Oversees event breakdown and cleanup
  • Conducts final walk of completed event
  • Checks out with and thanks client before leaving
