Job Description

Arden Courts is a distinguished provider of specialized memory care and assisted living services, renowned for its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, particularly those dealing with memory impairments such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease. The company operates multiple communities designed to offer a supportive, compassionate environment tailored to the unique needs of its residents. Arden Courts is well-regarded in the healthcare and senior living industries for delivering exceptional care through a blend of professional expertise, innovative approaches, and personalized attention. Their staff members are dedicated to fostering a respectful, safe, and engaging atmosphere where seniors can thrive and maintain dignity in their daily lives.

The Culinary Assistant role at Arden Courts is an integral position within their Culinary Services team, working closely with the Culinary Services Coordinator and Cook. This role involves maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring meals are delivered promptly and with care. The shift for this role is from 2 PM to 6 PM, making it suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment. The position demands a high level of professionalism, tact, and sensitivity, given that the environment centers on the care of elderly residents, many of whom may have special dietary or health considerations. This role also offers amazing employee benefits including daily access to pay through ZayZoon, uniforms, employee discounts, participation in appreciation events, access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), paid time off, holiday worked premium pay, and more, which are valuable perks especially for part-time staff.

Applicants for this position are expected to hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess basic reading, writing, and English communication skills. While previous food service experience is preferred, additional knowledge and experience working with the elderly and individuals with dementia are highly advantageous. Furthermore, candidates must hold a Food Service Sanitation certificate as required by state or local regulations. This ensures that all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to within the kitchen setting. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for extended periods, as well as the capacity to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds safely.

Arden Courts is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace committed to inclusivity. Qualified applicants will receive consideration regardless of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex/gender (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status, citizenship, familial or marital status, genetics, or any other legally protected category. The company also complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA), offering accommodations for applicants with disabilities to ensure a fair application process. Overall, the Culinary Assistant role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of seniors within a reputable and caring organization while benefiting from supportive employment practices and a positive work environment.
