With a focus on high standards and continuous improvement, this facility values teamwork, professionalism, and dedication among its staff members.

Currently, The Highlands Living Center has exciting openings for Culinary Assistants, an excellent opportunity especially suited for high school students or those looking to gain valuable experience in the culinary and food service sector. This role provides an engaging and dynamic work environment where employees assist in essential food preparation and meal service tasks. The position offers flexible shifts including every other weekend availability, with shift hours scheduled from 4pm to 8pm or from 7am to 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The assistant also works on the tray line to assemble meals, deliver meal carts to resident floors, and serve food either in dining areas or directly in resident rooms.

An important aspect of this role involves strict adherence to diet compliance, ensuring that meals meet specific dietary restrictions such as pureed, low-sodium, or diabetic diets to safeguard resident health. The Culinary Assistant contributes to maintaining high standards of sanitation by washing dishes, cleaning pots and pans, and sanitizing food preparation areas. This position demands flexibility and a willingness to work across various stations within the food service department, including dish-room, entree preparation, cold foods, beverage service, and nourishment roles.
