Job Description

Norwegian Cruise Line is a renowned leader in the global cruise industry, celebrated for its innovative ships and exceptional guest experiences. Among its fleet, the M/S Pride of America stands out as a unique vessel with a rich history and a distinguished reputation. Inaugurated in 2005, the Pride of America is the first US-flagged cruise ship launched in nearly fifty years. This prestigious status requires the vessel to be staffed exclusively by a US crew, making it an exceptional opportunity for maritime professionals seeking a career that blends travel, hospitality, and service. Operating year-round in the breathtaking Hawaiian Islands, the Pride of America sails from Honolulu to various beautiful destinations including Kahului and Lahaina on Maui, as well as Nawiliwili on Kauai. The ship’s itinerary offers a unique blend of cultural immersion, luxury, and stunning natural scenery, providing crew members a truly memorable work environment.

Norwegian Cruise Line is currently seeking enthusiastic, hospitality-oriented professionals for various shipboard positions on the M/S Pride of America. These roles offer a vibrant, dynamic work atmosphere aboard a major cruise ship committed to delivering memorable experiences to its guests. The available positions include Assistant Cook (Prep Cook), Assistant Waiter, Laundry Personnel, Stateroom Attendant (Hotel Room Housekeeping), Utility (Janitorial in Galley and Hotel), and Waiter. Each role plays a vital part in maintaining the high standards of service and cleanliness that define the Pride of America’s reputation. Recruits will benefit from comprehensive training, competitive compensation, and the chance to work and live amidst the natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands.

Ideal candidates are motivated by teamwork, thrive in fast-paced environments, and possess a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Employment on the Pride of America is full-time and offers a salary starting at $16 per hour. The position demands compliance with specific regulatory requirements, including the possession of a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) and a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). Applicants must be legal to work in the U.S. and meet other eligibility criteria, such as being at least 18 years old, passing physical and background checks, and holding either a GED or a High School Diploma.

Working aboard the Pride of America comes with numerous benefits. Beyond competitive wages, employees can expect overtime pay, gratuity earnings if eligible, and substantial personal savings through provided room, food, and transportation. The company also offers paid training and discounts for friends and family, making it an attractive employment package. The unique lifestyle of working on a cruise ship with a committed crew and diverse clientele offers an unparalleled career experience for hospitality-minded individuals eager to explore the exciting world of maritime service. Join this vibrant team and experience the adventure, camaraderie, and professional growth that come with working on the M/S Pride of America, the crown jewel of American-flagged cruise ships sailing the Hawaiian Islands.
