Job Requirements
- High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
- experience with major hotel brand procedures and standards
- ability to stand frequently behind the front desk
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- basic computer skills
- passion for people and service
- strong communication skills
- ability to read and write for completing paperwork
- basic math skills
- problem-solving and motivating abilities
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt standards
- strong communication skills
- ability to operate property management and reservations systems
- problem-solving and reasoning abilities
- basic math skills for cash and credit handling
Job Duties
- Check guests in and issue room keys
- provide information on hotel services and room location
- ensure required identification is taken from guests at check-in per local laws
- answer phones promptly and courteously
- up-sell rooms to maximize hotel revenue
- record and process guest calls, messages, requests, and concerns
- record guest preferences in the system
- check guests out and resolve late or disputed charges
- process all cash and credit card transactions accurately
- issue and control guest safe-deposit boxes
- communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management
- resolve guest problems and complaints using service recovery guidelines
- follow hotel safety protocols and report incidents
- book guest reservations for individuals and groups
- work as part of a team and communicate with other departments
- perform other duties including guest room tours and concierge services
