Job Description
Crossing Creeks Country Club is a prestigious private club known for its excellent amenities and commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience to its members and guests. The club prides itself on maintaining a high level of service and culinary excellence, supported by a dedicated and professional staff. As a key part of the hospitality industry, Crossing Creeks Country Club serves a diverse range of food and beverage options in a sophisticated setting, making it a preferred destination for those seeking quality dining and memorable social experiences. The club supports continuous staff development and values leadership that contributes to a positive workplace culture and guest satisfaction.
The role of the Sous Chef at Crossing Creeks Country Club is crucial in upholding and advancing the culinary standards set by the Executive Chef. This position entails providing supportive leadership to the kitchen staff throughout all food service operations, ensuring that each dish served meets the club's expectations for quality, taste, and presentation. The Sous Chef assists in monitoring kitchen activities and expediting orders, plays an active role in menu creation and recipe development, organizes schedules, and trains kitchen personnel for optimal performance. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to step into the Executive Chef’s role whenever necessary, maintaining clear communication to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
In addition to day-to-day food preparation duties — such as measuring, chopping, cooking, and plating — the Sous Chef is responsible for maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards following strict health regulations. This position demands familiarity with food safety protocols, inventory management, staff evaluations, and effective team collaboration. Being able to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced environment is essential. The Sous Chef is also expected to support special event food preparation, contribute to new menu options inspired by seasonal changes, and uphold the club's customer service standards by fostering a cooperative and respectful work environment.
The ideal candidate should possess leadership qualities, strong culinary skills, and the ability to work autonomously while seamlessly collaborating within a team. Attention to detail, integrity, and dedication are vital attributes. Overall, the Sous Chef helps deliver an elevated dining experience that aligns with Crossing Creeks Country Club's mission and goals, ensuring each member and guest feels valued and satisfied with their culinary experience.
