Job Description

We are currently seeking a Casino Coffee Bar Barista to join our team for the first shift from 5:30 am to 1:30 pm, starting at $13.43 per hour plus tips. This role is integral to our guest services team, as it directly impacts the guest experience by delivering high-quality coffee beverages in a timely and friendly manner. This position requires individuals who thrive in high-energy, fast-paced environments and have a genuine passion for providing top-notch customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and serving a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, engaging positively with guests, and maintaining a clean and organized coffee bar area. The role demands excellent organizational skills, an ability to multitask, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.

As a Casino Coffee Bar Barista, you will be the face of our coffee service, tasked with ensuring that every guest is greeted warmly and served promptly. Your responsibilities will include accurately taking and processing orders using a Point of Sale (POS) system, handling financial transactions responsibly, and assisting with inventory management tasks such as stocking and cleaning. You will need to have knowledge about our coffee and menu offerings to suggest drinks or products that enhance the guest's experience. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety is essential, and you will be expected to monitor equipment temperatures and uphold departmental policies and controls.

Working in this role also means being attuned to guest needs and feedback, responding courteously to inquiries or complaints, and acting as an ambassador of the casino’s brand. Due to the nature of our business, you should be comfortable working irregular hours, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and potentially late nights when required. This position also involves some physical activity, such as standing for long periods, moving throughout the property, and handling equipment or supplies up to 25 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of customer service, coffee bar, and/or cash handling experience preferred
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to use basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and counting using whole numbers and United States currency
  • Ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to interact with guests and team members professionally
  • Ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical capability to perform tasks required including standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and moving freely
  • Able to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Required to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Job Duties

  • Craft and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, blended drinks, or teas and serve guests in a timely manner
  • Interact, acknowledge, and greet every guest with a smile to establish rapport and increased guest confidence and satisfaction
  • Take customer’s drink or food order and record orders in point of sale (POS) system
  • Process payment transactions accurately and timely and ensure proper procedures are followed for handling of financial transactions
  • Assist with daily set-up, clean-up, and stocking of supplies and products
  • Become familiar with coffee bar items, accurately describe menu items to guests, and suggest products that might appeal to them
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils to ensure work area and service areas are safe, clean, and attractive
  • Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, products, and equipment to ensure proper functioning
  • Act as a resource to guests by maintaining thorough knowledge of the facility, special events, promotions, and other amenities
  • Attend to guest needs or special requests in a courteous and prompt manner, handle guest communications, inquiries, complaints, and concerns and take corrective action with the goal of producing a positive interaction and experience for all guests
  • Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
