This opportunity is for a full-time Packaging Technician within Iron Heart Canning, a vital role integral to the operations and success of the company. Packaging Technicians are responsible for setting up and breaking down packaging equipment, ensuring that Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures are rigorously adhered to, and maintaining the operational efficiency of the canning line. Employees in this role will work closely with both the Iron Heart team and client brewery staff, performing essential tasks such as transporting and handling heavy equipment, mixing chemicals necessary for sanitation, troubleshooting and operating highly technical machinery, and conducting consistent quality inspections.
Starting compensation for this position begins at $20 per hour, with a full range of benefits for full-time employees. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to push/pull up to 800 pounds on wheels
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs frequently
- Availability for 8-12 hour shifts including overnight stays
- Ability to safely operate heavy machinery
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn onsite
- Good communication skills
- Flexible schedule
- Pride in work and positive attitude
- Must pass onboarding exams
- May be subject to MVR check and background screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four-year college degree preferred but not required
- One year of packing machine operator experience preferred but not required
- Understanding of mechanics

Job Duties
- Transport and set up/take down of heavy equipment in a box truck to and/or from canning runs
- Chemical mixing and sanitation procedures
- Setting up and troubleshooting equipment such as labeler and date coder
- Consistent quality checks
- Keeping the equipment clean and up to Iron Heart standards
- Full understanding of company policies and rules
- Collaborating with other technicians and brewery staff
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy packaging machinery
- Packaging machinery repair and maintenance
- Mandatory lunch breaks
- Communicate with customers professionally
