Job Description
Iron Heart Canning is the industry leader in mobile beverage canning, known for its unwavering commitment to quality and operational excellence. Operating warehouses across 27 states, Iron Heart provides expert onsite canning services to a diverse range of clients including breweries, wineries, and other beverage manufacturers. The company specializes in delivering high-standard mobile canning solutions that help craft beverage producers efficiently package their products with precision and consistency. Iron Heart is dedicated to advancing the craft beverage industry by offering innovative canning technology and superior customer service, making it a trusted partner for beverage producers nationwide.
This full-time position as an Advanced Canning Technician offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing company that values skill development and hands-on learning. The role focuses on the operation and maintenance of the canning line where the technician will be responsible for setting up and breaking down sophisticated equipment. Additionally, the technician must ensure all Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures meet Iron Heart's stringent standards for sanitation and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft beer and brewing, as well as a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment. At Iron Heart, employees are encouraged to expand their expertise in the industry through onsite training and continuous guidance, fostering a supportive atmosphere for growth.
Compensation for this role starts at $20 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and medical and dental insurance. This is a highly physical role requiring the ability to transport and handle heavy equipment, including moving 150-lb pallets of cans and pushing an 800-lb canning line on wheels. Shifts typically last 8-12 hours with federally mandated lunch breaks. The Advanced Canning Technician will also collaborate closely with other technicians and brewery staff, ensuring smooth operation and high-quality standards throughout the canning process. This role demands multitasking, strong communication skills, and an ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues on the spot while maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Flexible scheduling is necessary as each week’s assignments vary based on customer schedules, often including long hours and overnight stays.
This position is an excellent fit for individuals who take pride in their work, have a motivated and positive attitude, and are eager to develop their knowledge of craft beer and beverage packaging technology. Candidates with home brewing or previous brewery experience will find this role particularly rewarding. Iron Heart values employees who are quick learners and committed to continuous improvement, as the company’s procedures and processes evolve to maintain market leadership in mobile canning solutions. Joining Iron Heart Canning means becoming part of a dynamic team that blends technical skill with a passion for craft beverages, providing the foundation for a fulfilling career in the beverage industry.
