Job Description

The Courtyard Charleston Historic District is a distinguished hotel nestled in the heart of Charleston's Historic District, a location celebrated for its historic charm, vibrant coastal lifestyle, and rich culinary scene. Adjacent to renowned landmarks such as Marion Square and Charleston's newest premier venue, The Gaillard Center, just a block away, this hotel offers a unique blend of Southern hospitality and modern amenities. It stands as an ideal destination not only for leisure travelers but also for business meetings, formal events, and intimate gatherings. The Courtyard Charleston Historic District boasts over 7800 square feet of versatile meeting and event space, including elegant outdoor function areas reminiscent of a classic Charleston garden. This setting provides the perfect backdrop for memorable occasions amid the city's rich cultural and historical ambiance.

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager to join our vibrant team. This role is overtime eligible, reflecting the demanding and exciting nature of the position. Our Catering Manager will play a pivotal part in driving the hotel's revenue by leveraging their hospitality expertise and sales acumen to maximize catering sales and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in relationship-building, and is passionate about creating unforgettable events that consistently exceed client expectations. This position offers the opportunity to be a key contributor to the hotel's success, working collaboratively with various departments and external partners to ensure seamless event execution.

As our Catering Manager, you will be recognized as both a sales superstar and a relationship rock star. Your primary responsibility will be to achieve and surpass sales and revenue targets by actively pursuing new business accounts and nurturing lasting relationships with a diverse clientele, including leisure guests, business travelers, and SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) groups. You will lead engaging sales tours, showcasing the hotel's exceptional event spaces and amenities, ensuring clients are inspired and well-informed.

In addition to your sales responsibilities, you will serve as the event maestro, orchestrating flawless event lists, banquet orders, and scheduling with impeccable attention to detail. Your role will extend beyond the walls of the hotel as you represent the property at local community events and industry gatherings, enhancing its presence and reputation. Your enthusiasm for service will set the tone for every guest and team interaction, consistently aligning with company standards and catering goals.

Collaboration and teamwork are at the core of this role; you will actively participate in management meetings, support special promotions, and step up wherever additional leadership is needed. Discretion and professionalism are paramount, as you will be entrusted with access to sensitive information and spaces, requiring stellar judgment and integrity.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual who is ready to elevate their career in the hospitality industry, working within a supportive environment that values creativity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. If you are a driven sales and service professional eager to make a lasting impact and help our hotel shine as a top event destination, we encourage you to apply and join our team today.
