Job Duties
- Bag groceries at checkout for customers
- Strive for at least five items per bag while preventing damage
- Follow best practices for bagging different types of bags including reusable, plastic, and paper
- Assist customers by removing merchandise from the bottom of baskets
- Offer help loading bags into customer vehicles
- Perform basic shelf conditioning and restocking
- Inform customers of grocery specials
- Return merchandise to store shelves
- Gather and return bascarts to designated areas
- Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and in the parking lot
- Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store
- Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
- Understand store layout to locate products and perform price checks for cashiers
- Reinforce store safety programs by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions
- Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs
- Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions about products
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company policies
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Manage conflicts reasonably and non-confrontationally
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
- Provide support through interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
