The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger role at Kroger is integral to delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring that groceries are bagged efficiently and safely. This part-time position focuses heavily on enhancing the customer experience by providing friendly, attentive, and respectful service. Employees in this role help maintain a clean and safe environment inside and outside the store, assist customers with loading groceries into their vehicles, and support store operations through shelf conditioning and merchandise handling. Job Duties

  • Bag groceries at check out for customers
  • Strive for at least five items in each bag ensuring no damage
  • Follow best practices for bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags
  • Assist in removing customers' merchandise from the bottom of baskets
  • Offer help to customers with loading bags into their cars
  • Perform basic shelf conditioning
  • Inform customers of grocery specials
  • Return merchandise to store shelves
  • Gather and return baskets to designated areas
  • Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and parking lot
  • Clean all areas inside and outside of the store
  • Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
  • Understand store layout and assist with price checks for cashiers
  • Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repair needs
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering product questions
  • Follow local, state, federal laws and company guidelines
  • Work cooperatively in high-paced environments
  • Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner
  • Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
  • Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults
